Our first primary battle is heating up…

Those of you who have been watching our involvement in the Illinois primary election for the 11th Congressional District will likely get a kick out this.

You can read all about it over at the original post, but in summary, our pick for the race in Illinois did not come without controversy.

Apparently, one of our opponents in the primary believes that if you don’t live in the district, you have no business supporting a candidate in the race. This particular candidate went so far as to release a press release calling our support “bogus” and claiming our pick is an establishment candidate.

Pretty strong words for a guy who gives thousands of dollars to the RNC, cheats on his taxes and yells at his wife on camera.

On a good note, Adam Kinzinger, our pick for the race, is looking good in the polls and we feel he’ll come out of the primary with a win, which will set us up for a general fight against liberal incumbent Rep. Debbie Halvorson.

This is the first real political battle of our tea party ran PAC, and it’s turning out to be quite a show.

Also, those of you involved in the PAC should be encouraged to know that 36 federal candidates sought our endorsement over the past two weeks. This suggests that our endorsements are taken very seriously, and as can be seen in Illinois, are a big help to true liberty minded candidates.

And thanks to your donations, we’re running a full page ad in the Joleit Herald Newspaper on Monday morning. You can view our ad here. The ad cost us $2,190 and we were able to send a check of support to Adam Kinzinger as well.

This is the first official election involvement of TaxDayTeaParty.com and Liberty First PAC, but it certainly won’t be the last.

For Liberty,

    Taxation WITH Representation

Just made the google rounds. Tea Party hits USA Today:

To devour the entire country, I recommend that we focus on Taxation WITH Representation. And how to get there.

He may be too modest to post it, but Eric hit US News and World Report:

    http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/washington-whispers/2010/01/28/tea-party-leader-slams-new-obama-agenda.html

“The State of the Union can be summed up in one statement … Washington is completely out of touch with the people it works for.”

    Yup.

Interesting. Although it has been my position all along that the Tea Party movement underestimates its potential.

As I recall, the last Fox poll was Tea Party 33, Democrats 25, and Republicans 12.

Democrats and Republicans continue to ruin our Treasury and our economy.

    There is a different path:

    1. Do you support taxpayer approval of spending? If not, why not?
    2. Do you support instant runoff voting?
    3. Do you support public seed money for new candidates?
    4. Do you support a 32 hour work week, to spread the work?

Dunno what Kinzinger’s position is on these issues. But I’m REALLY tired of being bounced around between Democrats and Republicans.
