The American Liberty Alliance is teaming up with Americans for Limited Government, American Majority and the Sam Adams Alliance to bring you a movement building tour that you don’t want to miss!

On September 10th, 2009, our crew will begin trekking across the country, visiting 15 states and now more than 20 scheduled stops. In each stop, we’ll be providing blogger meet-ups, activist/candidate training, townhall events and liberty rallies.

The tour will also feature a full scale documentary crew who will be filming the entire journey with the intention of telling the story of true American grassroots.

The tour kicks off next week, so if you haven’t already done so… please go check out the tour dates and register for the training. You can view all of the details at AmericanLibertyTour.com

It seems to me your message is aimed at the wrong people.. You are pointing to Washington..which has some fault, but if you want real quick impact to slow our country’s movement to ‘more’ socialism it is simple. Perhaps convince everyone to refuse accepting any money that has federal government money tied to it. (i.e. contractors, constructions workers, car dealers, all agriculture funding, farmers, any medical facility, schools, colleges, disaster recovery money, companies making products going into government purchased products, cities, libraries, refusing tax credits on things we purchase, refusing tax rate reductions, etc. The list goes on.). Perhaps you could start within your own family and friend circles, neighbors, etc. Stop by some construction sites and start convincing the construction workers to quit their job, stop by the hospitals or schools and convince those people, etc. Simple. (or maybe not). The fact is in a Christian based nation you will always have some socialism because the almighty dollar should not be priority one.

Taxes are a necessary evil, I believe we all know that. We depend on them to pick up the garbage, plow the roads, pay the police etc. The problem is our legislators (federal, state, county) never learned the art of budgeting. The “bottomless pit” and “the money tree” my mother used to talk about doesn’t exist however, our government runs like it does. Our Government employees income is more than mine, their benefits are far better than mine and I help pay for them. Whatever happened to lower pay and better benefits for Government workers? (the trade off that used to exist) Now, better pay and benefits for less work. My father passed away in 1963, I remember his complaining about “it takes 3 people to do a government job and it takes 1 person to do it privately”. 49 years later and this statement is still true except it take 4 at the government level. The only way to truly save on taxes is decreasing the size of Government, this can only be done by decreasing the number of people employed by the Government. The secretaries of the world do not need secretaries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If we all have to sacrifice, then we all have to sacrifice.

I do believe we need to fix healthcare. I’m not sure how but it needs to be fixed. I am a healthcare worker, Americans cannot afford to use the services of the health system. The argument that Government will direct our health care is a weak one. The Insurance companies are already directing our health care. I have asthma (since childhood) I cannot purchase insurance privately to cover this disease. Physicians are no longer diagnosing children with asthma because they are uninsurable. That is an example of INSURANCE COMPANIES directing our health care I am sure there are many more.

When we put information out for Americans to make decisions, the responsible way is to give them ALL the information. If this organization is to attain and maintain credibility honesty is a must. It is not in the best interest of our country to parrot Rush Limbaugh, Barney Frank, Sarah Palin. It is in our best interest to put the trud facts out and allow all of America to make their decision based on those facts.

Thanks, for allowing me to share my views.

  3. Constitutional income AND earnings TAX as explained by some of our Founders.

It’s time for people to stand up for their convictions. It is time to stop voting for someone because they are popular or pretty, or because they “bring home the bacon.”

It’s time to clean the deadwood out of Congress. And we’re only going to be able to do that in the primaries.

So stand up, take a good hard look at the candidates, and do something besides sitting in front of a monitor or pulling a voting machine lever. Go help the candidate of your choice in the primary elections this Spring.

Sometimes it’s exciting, sometimes it’s drudge work, but when the candidate you are helping wins - it’s awesome.

  5. This is a time that we need to listen to our founding fathers. Here is a video about Thomas Jefferson that sums up why we are so frustrated.

I left a comment respectfully disagreeing with the viewpoints of your group and the comment was deleted by the webmaster. So much for free speech…

  7. Ryan Stork says:

I meant to also put that members of the Senate serve 6 year terms, however, the point still stands…

  8. Ryan Stork says:

This is nuts! First off, there already are term limits; members of Congress (both House and Senate) serve two year terms. Therefore, if you feel that your Congressional representative is representing your state/district in a way that you do not like…you can vote them out (no need to “water the tree of liberty” or all that nonsense)!

Second, has it ever occurred to anyone that perhaps the bank bailout, the auto bailout, and stimulus were necessary so that Democracy and a free market COULD flourish?! So that our country did not fall into another Great Depression, where a communist revolution was a REAL threat, not just something made up by those with an agenda?! Members of these “tea bagging” groups should register for a basic American history and/or civil government class and learn a little more about how our government ACTUALLY works (not just what Boss Limbaugh tells you). You might also learn something about the larger picture of our nation’s history, not just a moment in time that has been twisted into your own psychotic understanding of reality. Although I suppose if you do not want to pay taxes, you probably do not believe in public education right? Or would that make too much sense…

Finally, you do not want to pay taxes? Fine! Then stop sending your children to OUR (tax paying citizens) public schools, stop driving on OUR roads and highways, stay out of OUR public parks and libraries, stop eating OUR food (inspected for safety by the FDA, a government institution) or taking OUR medicines (again, FDA), stop listening to OUR radio and TV transmissions (regulated by the FCC, made possible via satellites launched by NASA), stop using OUR internet (created by the U.S. Military) to propagate your FALSE message!!! Move somewhere without taxes; I hear Iran does not engage in direct taxation…

Hi, Like all of you I have been watching and listening to the health care debate with great interest. The difference perhaps is I haved listened to varied media from NPR to Rush Limbaugh. Thus far I have strongly supported your right to rally and call our goverment to task. However, you have lost me today. The reason one sign “Bury Obamacare with Kennedy”. Kennedy’s liberal polictics aside, no family has suffered more in the name of public service. Your critics are correct you are boorish.

  11. I wrote a book about all of this. Our beloved government is spending money like it is water. Yet we, the American people, are all dying of thirst!! The more our economy suffers the more they want to tax us to get out of it!!

Check out the book it is titled “MESSED UP!!” you can see it on my website http://www.messedup.vpweb.com or go to amazon.com. You will be surprised at some of the stuff that is going on that isn’t publicized!!

where you guys when bush gave tax cuts to coporations for sending jobs overseas, big govt? it was bush that made it possible for the govt to spy on u.s. citizens, where were you? how about when bush was asked about osama bin laden, who claimed to be the mastermind behind 9/11, bush stated he doesn’t think about it much. you guys are full of crap, honestly, and guess what i hope this healthcare reform goes through, b/c people in the black community have been saying the same exact thing about the govt. for years and people like you never listened, but I guess your chickens have come home to roost!

A SIMPLE PLEDGE FOR REAL CHANGE

    SAVE AMERICA IN 2010
Our country has been transformed from government of the people, for the people, by the people, into government of the professional politicians, for the professional politicians “special interest groups”, by the professional politicians. The professional politician has one major objective, to get money for their re-election. That need for money leads to earmarks, lobbyists, not reading bills, bills even they can’t understand, and more concern for special interest groups than for the people they represent.
It seems like every aspect of our country is in a crisis. We have the government taking over auto companies, controlling banks, deficits so big it’s hard to comprehend and still growing, healthcare crisis, and a continuing fear of terrorist attacks, to name a few. The only way to save our country is to replace all of the professional politicians in Washington who want to keep the status quo.
They need to be replaced with people whose main concern is legislation for the good of our country, and the people they represent. Currently they make sure they take care of the special interest groups that donate large amounts of money for their re-election. When our country is faced with a problem, how can our politicians make decisions that will really fix the problem when their first concern is to take care of the special interests that contribute large amounts to them. Could you imagine being able to believe a congressman when they talk about fixing a problem? The recent health reform is a good example of this. Instead of identifying problems with our healthcare and fixing them, a bill was introduced that would completely change our health system. This bill is being pushed very hard by the special interest groups that support the Democratic party with large contributions. An example of this would be the lack of tort reform in the healthcare bill. Malpractice insurance is a major expense in our health system but trial lawyers are a major contributor to the Democratic Party therefore tort reform is no where in the bill. In recent years both parties are equally guilty of this practice to the detriment of our country. Our professional politicians are continually voting for bills they haven’t read, and some, including the recent stimulus bill, are written by special interest groups. How can they say they represent us when they don’t even know what they’re voting for? Why should corporations and special interest groups through lobbyists be able to spend money on our representatives to gain influence on legislation, while we, the people they represent, can’t get that access. Another way to make them more responsive to our wishes is to have term limits. Currently once they are elected and the longer they stay in office they become more concerned about acquiring money for re-election and less concerned with the people they represent.
If we had term limits we would have representatives that are not concerned with pleasing their large contributors, but actually represent the people who vote for them. It would also be nice to have a website where we could find the votes made by our representatives daily plus a short explanation of why they voted that way. Could you imagine being able to believe a congressman when they talk about fixing a problem?

There is only one way we can save our country, and YOU can help. We need to replace every congressman and senator in Washington that won’t take the following pledge. It doesn’t matter if they are Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative or any other ideology. We can do this if YOU pledge not to vote for anyone who won’t take the following pledge, and send this to everyone you know and ask them to do the same.
Your pledge. I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANY CANDIDATE WHO WILL NOT TAKE THE PLEDGE FOR BETTER GOVERNMENT

THE CANDIDATE PLEDGE FOR BETTER GOVERNMENT

    IF I AM ELECTED I PLEDGE ;
    1. I will not vote for any bill that contains any earmarks. I will introduce or support a bill to end the practice of earmarks.
    2. I will end the practice of lobbyists getting special access that otherwise is not available to constituents.
    3. I will not vote for any bill I haven’t read.
    4. I will support legislation that makes it illegal to contribute to an individual unless you can vote for them.
    5. I will support term limits
    6. I will work to set up a process to have a website where all votes are listed within 48 hours after the vote is taken.

p.s. We’re hoping to eventually have a web page to promote this, for now send questions or comments to; smithga_2@hotmail.com

It is time people to stand against this new administration, if we wait any longer we will not stand a chance in seeing our nation being a democracy, we are not a communist country, I can remember how afraid this country used to be of communism and I am only 38, this is scary that we know that Obama is a Marxist who strongly associate’s him self with self admitted and convicted criminals who call themselves communist, it is time to have President Obama answer these questions and to stop raising our national debt with this horrible stimulus package that was thought up and written by his communist czars. Now as I write this the green jobs czar that Obama appointed has also been proven to be a 911 conspiracy supporter, he believes that president Bush had over 3000 people killed on 911, these are the people running our government call the White House and demand an answer from Obama 202-456-1414!!! One nation under God is indivisible!!!
