[...] 4pm EDT update [...]
I was in Atlanta for the Tea Party, while there I observed a police officer, looked like a State Patrol officer. take a sign away from a man. the sign was a protrate of Obama in a Russan hat. say “Just say No (In russan) the man was not creating a problem. he was just holding it up no support was used. the officer decided that he was insulting. i feel that Obama is a public figure and he is open for comments from the public. The officer gave the sign back but the man was told not to hold it up again. I feel that this is a violation of our freedom of speach. I also think the news reporter for CNN is a jurk that was causing a disturbance at a tea party. She is most defently a bius person, and should not be working in the news reporting business , she can not report the news fairly.
I’m a Libertarian and attended one in Florida.

[...] Silence dogood / Tax Day Tea Party: 4pm EDT update [...]
I just wanted to let you know that, even though I can’t attend a tea party, I am behind the effort 100%. As are all of my friends, no matter what political affiliation, we are fed up. I am one of the baby boomer generation. First, the money we paid into social security was spent on other social projects, so we get a mere pittance of what we would have made had we been able to invest on our own (and they keep raising the age to receive full benefits), then our self-funded retirements went down the tube, because the main reason we have elected officials is to protect us, and they screwed that up, too and now, we have a socialist president who thinks government is the answer, rather than the problem.
I think we should all demand the same retirement package that government employees receive. I would have loved to retire after 30 years of employment with large pensions and health care benefits, none of which I will get.
Obama’s next project? Nationalized health medicine? I am a medical office manager for a small practice. I handle all aspects of insurance, and I am here to tell you that I would rather beat my head against the wall than have to deal with the people in Medicare. They are typical government employees. They could care less if they are helpful. I have tried leaving messages to speak to a manager, none of which get returned. It’s true: If you like the IRS, the post office or the TSA, you’re gonna love nationalized health medicine!!!
One last comment. I am for the fair tax law and getting rid of politics as usual.
Sincerely,
Lorna Williams
Not! I am a normal working person and taking off time from my day to go to a tea party because I believe in smaller government. I am not rich! There are many more like me!

Nancy Pelosi is an idiot!!!
New Jersey: Flemington (tiny town) 200+ regular folks stood in the rain and sleet for two hours and made sure their voices were heard…awesome turnout!
I’m not good at estimating numbers but it appeared that at around 500 people turned out for the tax rally on the lawn at the statehouse in Montpelier. I was suprised by such a large showing in a state that is so liberal. The rally was from 12;00-2:00. After the rally, demonstrators entered the statehouse while the representatives were in session. They were surprised by the number of people there! There is another rally in Rutland from 4:00-8:00.
Just got back from the one in Denver and it rocked! Way more people than I would have expected!!
Stop the spending madness!! The pirates of D.C. are frittering away our children’s future. What is “fair” about the excessive taxing of success? This great country now promotes mediocrity and guess what it will now get!!!
one of the favorite signs I saw today
DON’T TAX ME BRO
I just got back from a TEA party in Ventura, California and it was great. There were about 300 people assembled listening to speakers and another 100 or so people lined up on the streets in front of the Government Center. Not only were the protesters on the street invigorating, but so were the constant honks and cheers from the numerous cars passing by. It is apparent that MANY Americans agree with these TEA parties!
We had about 500 in Crystal Lake Illinois from Noon until 1pm. It felt great to get out and stretch the right to free speech
1,200 people gathered on the banks of the Maumee River in Toledo, Ohio, enduring cold, wind and rain to demonstrate their opposition to the direction in which our country is being taken.
Just got back from the protest in Bel Air, MD. Cold and rainy, but about 300-400 of us still managed to crowd the green in front of the County Courthouse to make our feelings heard. A call for limited government and liberty from all comers. It was awesome.
Attended a rally in Montpelier from noon - 2 . . . it was huge! I would estimate the crowd size to be near 1,000 people. I was amazed at the number of people who showed up in the middle of the day on a work day. The size of this gathering by Vermont standards was HUGE! Yet I didn’t even see one single local TV news crew there covering it. Seems a little strange doesn’t it? GET INVOLVED! They can’t ignor us if you get involved!
