$22,000 Worth of Tea Party Gear

logo

Just under three weeks ago we launched The Official Tax Day Tea Party store over at Zazzle.com. The store was created by Leslie Harrington, the graphic designer for the DontGo Movement and the person credited with most of the great Tea Party graphics you see floating around the web.

When Leslie first created the store, it was our hope that we would be able to raise $500 or so to help buy TEA-shirts for each of our organizers across the country. This would require that we sell at least $2,500 worth of product through the store.

Much to our surprise, this morning our account shows we’ve sold more than $22,000 worth of Tea Party Gear! The profit on this is about $6,400, which will allow us to purchase 400+ TEA-shirts for our local organizers to wear on Tax Day.

The remaining profit from the store will be equally spread between Smart Girl Politics, TCOT, and the DontGo Movement (these three groups have put in a HUGE amount of time and energy to help get the Tea Party Movement where it is today).

Without question, this is a very worthy cause and thanks to YOU we’ve exceeded our goals and expectations. So with that said… we want to thank every one of you who purchased something through our Tea Party Store.

Oh… and if you’ve received your Tea Party stuff, send us pics and we’ll post them here.

    Tamar,

We would certainly be willing to do that if we actually had the funds. Zazzle.com will not be cutting a check for March profits until the end of April, unfortunately. We’ve had to front the costs (out of pocket) for T-shirts going to organizers.

That said, in many cases Freedom Works has been able to cover insurance costs. I would recommend you contact them and ask for assistance.

    Thanks!

Any possibility of using some of the profits to pay for the permit fees & red tape that was mentioned in previous article?
