Fellow Patriots,
In our last update, we mentioned a second part to our announcement about the next march on Washington being planned for April 15th (Tax Day Tea Party). Many of you sent enthusiastic emails and we’re excited to see so many folks already getting involved.
The second part of our announcement, however, is going to be much bigger, and much more important for the movement. But before I let the cat out of the bag, let me explain why we’re doing what we’re doing.
To borrow a line from Barrack Obama… “let me be clear.”
This government is now rogue. And I’m strongly inclined to believe the government has deliberately chosen to go this direction. Which, in my mind, presents a malicious act towards the people they were elected to represent? In effect, this move represents a clear violation of their oath to the United States of America.
The dangerous vote for anti-constitutional legislation disguised as “healthcare reform” in Congress presents us with a perfect example. Our calls, our faxes, our rallies and every poll in the country made it clear that we the people opposed the bill.
Yet, Congress ignored us and refused to represent the majority. They cast their votes in favor of the bill, and they laughed, smiled, and applauded themselves for doing so.
Again… this government is operating outside of the restraints of the constitution and is now completely rogue.
We as a movement have had a tremendous year. We’ve accomplished great success in many areas, but we’ve also had our shortfalls.
One of the areas that we seem to be lacking in is the ability for organizations to cross promote and collaborate. I think we’re all guilty of this, and it’s not something we should be ashamed of.
The reality is, once an activist puts time and energy into a group or organization, it is in the person’s best interest to see that particular group or organization succeed over others. This is not a malicious scenario, but one that prohibits true unity within the movement.
The second area we’re behind in, but catching up on some fronts, is the ability to shift our activism into campaign mode.
I don’t think anyone can deny that if we do not defeat a BUNCH of corrupt thugs in our government in 2010 and 2012, they will rip our constitution to pieces. And our liberty will be the greatest victim.
So over the past few weeks, a deep conversation has taken place within a quiet group of tea party organizers and activists. The general agreement is that we need to fix a leadership vacuum, mend the unity gap between groups and organizations, and work as a collaborative effort to shift the movement into campaign mode.
The following is a part of what we’ve come up with as a solution.
The Patriot Caucus
The purpose of the Patriot Caucus is to directly address each of the shortfalls mentioned above.
-Leadership
-Unity
-Electoral Victory
Before we get in to what the Patriot Caucus is, let’s make sure we know what it isn’t.
The Patriot Caucus is NOT an effort to replace any organization. It is not an effort to duplicate any plans and it is not in place to try to be the “mega group” of the movement.
The Patriot Caucus is NOT a political party, nor does it support or endorse a political party. And the effort is certainly not an effort to back third party movements. In fact, the Patriot Caucus will strive to be as “party blind” as possible with its political activism.
So what is it?
The Patriot Caucus is a peer powered entity being put in place to facilitate an environment of mass collaboration and communication within the liberty movement.
Every leadership position within the national structure will be an elected position. Each of these leadership positions will function as a “delegate” for a district, state or region.
Unlike a political party or existing organization, delegates within the Patriot Caucus exist to build bridges of communication between liberty minded groups and activist hubs. This is to be done with the following action items in play:
-Create a coherent, organized, state based directory of liberty minded coalitions, groups, orgs, think tanks, candidates and more
-Host conference calls and meetings with group leaders and movement organizers across districts and states
-Set up training events in districts and states (with involvement of groups and orgs)
-Collaborate with state and national communications teams to help market and promote events/efforts of existing groups, coalitions and orgs
-Work to ensure less duplication of efforts occurs
-Collaborate with delegates of other states for potential of unified efforts across state borders
And much, MUCH more!
As you can see, Patriot Caucus delegates are not in place to lead organizations. They are, instead, in place to help create unity and collaboration amongst existing groups and orgs. And to take it a step further… help promote and market efforts/events of existing groups and orgs.
The electoral system of the Patriot Caucus is in place to ensure that the structure is not self appointed or partisan in any way. Instead of having individuals self appoint or be appointed, the patriot Caucus creates an environment where states elect their own delegates. And those delegates elect national leadership teams.
This all sounds very ambitious… is it really possible to pull off?
When we first starting debating this idea, we were reminded of the challenges presented to General George Washington back in the late 1700’s. His army was broken into segments, was untrained, wasn’t properly communicating, wasn’t operating with proper resources, and major parts of the army were not supporting each other.
During the winter of 1777-78, Washington set up camp in Valley Forge and began doing what was believed by many to be impossible.
He regrouped, rebuilt, and eventually… reclaimed.
Is the Patriot Caucus possible? Absolutely.

To take this effort even further, we’ve booked a large venue in Valley Forge for the weekend of April 16-18 of 2010.
On April 16-18, 2010, we will convene for the first annual meeting of the Patriot Caucus in Valley Forge, PA.
There will be no charge for attending the three day event, but there will be a credentialing process. Each state will have a specific number of reserved seats to ensure a voting block for every state in the union.
On April 15th, we will make a move on Washington D.C. for one final warning. One final statement to Congress. One final plea for a reversal.
After the nationwide Tax Day Tea Party, the Patriot Caucus convenes for three days of meetings, panels, training sessions and more.
When we leave Valley Forge on April 19th, we leave prepared to do what is necessary to remove power hungry thugs from Congress and Senate.
This is our government. This is our country. This is our time.

There is a temporary “planning committee” in place that consists of nine tea party organizers. This committee will serve as the foundational leadership until April 18th, the day the full national infrastructure is voted for and approved to take over the Patriot Caucus.

I, like many of you, have been to the Tea Party meetings, rallies, performances and protests, have protested in front of my elected representatives’ offices, have marched on Washington D.C. on 9/12, have written letters & e-mails and made calls to the “Blue Dogs” - All To No Avail. It is dispiriting, which is precisely what the Obama Administration wants. They want us to give up. We should not; we cannot, if we love our children and our country.

I’ve read comments above from a call to revolution to term limits, and believe we must take action based on educated analysis. We already have tools available to us within our existing framework of government to change the USA’s current socialist path. It is imperative we vote ALL politicians out of office who voted for the bail out, the stimulus, and who vote for national health care as presently written (and not read by most!). We must be unified in this resolve and be ready to present alternative individuals from each state who are willing to vote the will of the people. We cannot be fooled by political rhetoric, but MUST be confident that those who step forward to run for office are true to the US Constitution.
As an example of the power of the people, look to the current wave against the global warming scam and the upcoming Copenhagen treaty that Obama could very well sign. Learn all you can about Lord Monckton’s successful lawsuit in England preventing British schools from showing Al Gore’s erroneous films on global warming to school children. The Copenhagen Treaty and socialist efforts we see in America right now, including government interference via the bail out, stimulus bill, and national health care are all tied in with attempts to force citizens of the USA into a global government and what Glenn Beck dared to state on national television is the “New World Order.” God save the USA and its Constitution!
Uniting all of the patriot citizen organizations is critical and the logical next step. Thanks for all your hard work. We will be successful when organized for a common cause - this is our country (Congress answers to the citizens). Restore the Constitution!!!

I beleive that the whole United States Goverment (Congress,the Senant and the President ) is outside the restraints of the Constitution of the United States of America. Our rights at law are a threat to the agenda of the very people that we elected to protect those rights. (e.g. the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independance) I and everybody have a right from God to self defence from the people that want to take these God given rights whether they be next door or International. (e.g. Right of Bear Arms, Life, Liberty, and Propert)The same group that would take my rights have also become a treat to the fact that our country was founded on a Christian foundation and the denial of the fact is a attack on what most people beleive in the United States of Ameria. These people that would take my God given rights be warned that I do not stand alone when I tell you that there is not limit to what we will do to secure those rights. Thank you Patriot Caucus and all the Real Americans and every group that is finally waking up to the quiet assault on our Liberties. You can count on me and alot of people I know to stand with you.
We strongly believe the reason our elected officials do not listen to us is part of a larger plan on their part to make us all completely dependant on the federal goverment. It is obvious to us this is their plan and we must impose term limits on all of them. Keep up the good fight!
I rhink this is great but we also have to start an organization for a clean election in 2010 we need people to volunteer to be polling judges. Register people before ACORN can and clean those voting rolls … canvass the neighborhoods and list the real voters names and addresses. Make sure the dead are no longer on the list.. Eric Holder just made sure that ACORN got back that money to fix elections … let us make sure they can’t…
Let’s add one more item to the destruction of America and our Constitution.
This Dec.7th 3 Navy SEALs’ who captured a top terrorist in Iraq are being rewarded not with medals and commendations but with a court martial to answer criminal charges stemming from allegations that they assaulted their prisoner.
They will be arraigned in military court on December 7th on charges of dereliction of duty, failure to safeguard a detainee, assault, and making false statements.
The SEALs’ court martial is scheduled for sometime in January, 2010.
A crime is being committed by our liberal Justice system that feels everyone throughout the world is protected under our Constitution. What is forgotten, it wasn’t the world’s blood that was spilled to build this country and write our Constitution.
If they are convicted of any charges, could be the shot that starts the 2nd American Revolution. Take that as a warning, Washington and the U.S Justice Dept. You want a fight, a fight you will get.
What America needs to know, if the Justice Department convicts the 3 SEALs’, they are convicting America and America won’t die without fighting.
I suggest everyone spreads the word to America on what I have stated.
Only then will leaders from our Tea Party movement from across America emerge to lead us to victory in taking back America and restoring our Constitution.
Start spreading the word. If they are convicted, the 2nd American Revolution will begin.

I will gladly attend the function in Valley Forge but find it pointless to show up to another rally with pointless signs that state nothing. Focus on the problems (violations to the Constitution) people or we will end up playing there game and no part of that is good or of G-D.

It is time for the Tea Parties to request /Demand from their state legislatures a rebirth of state militias, without this leg to stand on all else will fail. Asking DC to abide by the Constitution is a waste of breath.
Gandi’s civil disobediance would have a better and harder impact on this totally corrupt and out of control Congress. Refuse to abide by any Federal mandate ( I cannot say law ,for they are not)
and plan with Tea Parties to disrupt any

This event is planned for our tea party movement people to have the most representation from across the nation by design. We want local tea party groups to select their best to meet with their peers from across the nation. The local tea party’s themselves know who will best represent them, bring the best ideas, and have the most desire to move this process of organizing to the next level.
Though this event is geared toward representatives of tea party groups, anyone who supports the tea party movement is welcome to attend.
What we have to share with one another face to face is the true value of holding this convention though the program agenda will be dynamic and action packed in its own right.
We would hope that most groups could do some minor fund raising to help defray the travel, accommodations and ticket price. This is an investment in the true future of our movement and the people who are going to move us forward are going to be attending this event as they understand this.
Fifty people in a small tea party group for example each investing $10-20 dollars would take care of most of the costs to a delegate. This is not a huge investment money but information wise it will yield huge returns.
We suggest that your tea party meet soon to discuss who will be sent. There is a limited availability on the tickets.

This is a great idea! Washington and the other founding fathers put together a ragtag group and fought against the most powerful military force in the world at the time. They had the power of God behind them.
That is what we need, too. The people we are up against believe they cannot be defeated. They are powerful. I believe that God is on our side now just as He was the founding fathers.

In the 80’s I studied the New Age Movement w/ it’s climate change/EPA involvment, the decline and ‘planned destruction of America’.We have some responsibility with misplaced trust as nation. I wonder could we ever trust w/o questioning? Now we see what faces us and we must be visible, united from coast to coast with an effective plan to move this nation back to the people! WE must use our grassroots to talk to people wherever we go and not be locked in away from others as well. Talk in the line at the grocery, at the post office, wherever you are….encourage people to take action and let this movement grow. It is the only one we have! And the results have been astounding to date! My Dad [Vet WWII & Korea/much involved in politics]solemnly warned me before he passed away, “I want you to watch out because what I saw and what our troops fought against in other countries for their freedom, was coming here,because I see it clearly emerging.”

First, a revolution is only that, revolving back to a beginning if you can find it. A rebellion is no longer needed as that was done once and a Constitution formed which allows us to restore our Constitutional Governance through peaceful, constitutional law. No need to reinvent the wheel, I really feel we need to educate ourselves and the awakened public about the Constitution. Much to learn!
I agree we need to audidt the fed, only to awaken America even more. The next step is to demand Honest Money. Then, have competing currencies and most of our “failures” will be cured. Utelize Article 1 Sec 8 p5 and Article 1 sec 10 of the US Constitution.

I like the idea of a unified “clearinghouse” for all the different groups out there, but we should also be solidified in voting for candidates. The elected leaders of this new group should be vetting grassroots candidates and let us decide, state by state, who best represents our views and wishes. Then the entire state gets behind the candidate with the most support within the state.
That’s the only way we’re going to get the career politicians out of office and get people committed to the Constitution into Congress in 2010.
I understand why you’d want to keep this organization non-partisan, but we NEED to come together state by state and become partisan to get our representatives into Congress and get those thugs out.
I’m also wondering how this will affect the results of CC2009 and if we can somehow join in with their plans and get more backing for them. We ALL need to be headed in the same direction TOGETHER for the results we want. Otherwise, we’re all over the place and unorganized for the 2010 elections.
We CAN win in 2010 with ALL of the grassroots groups pushing the same candidate - state by state. So why NOT make this a party? The Patriot Party? The Constitution Party? And all of us joining together to put OUR grassroots candidates into Congress?

I agree, our Government has not kept our best interest(s) in mind. They work for us(the American People)! They are on our team, we are not on theirs. The only way this country can get back to what is was truly meant to be, is we must have a revolution or the States must suceed from the union.
I was in DC Tuesday through Thursday. If you can imagine it … it is going on. Saw the Premier Showing of the Tea Party Movie and met some very engaging Americans. All is not lost. “We the People” will find a way if we are situational aware and responsive to this awareness with our imaginations, our creativity, and our readiness, willingness, and ability to be seen and heard.
Read the Declaration of Independence, second paragraph. It tells Americans what we need to do when our elected officials ignore our request. They ignore us and represent only those who have very deep pockets and will bribe them to vote certain bills into law.
I have contacted my senators and they ignore my questions, and only respond with preprinted form letters that do not address any of my concerns or questions.
We need to pull the plug on the IRS and on the FED and institute term limits immediately.
I am of the opinion that America will not have an election in 2012. I am convinced that the radicals in the Democratic party are going ot so disrupt our country that martial law will be instituted and all elections stopped.
Because I have not been motivated to be involved in politics beyond voting. 911 changed that. I am starting to learn why we the people find ourselves in the dilemma we face now. To influence politicians it takes contributions or votes. We need to attract or promote candidates who represent our primary principals. How do we identify these candidates? Geo Washington and his armed militia took a stand against tyranny. The premise of RRR is good but we need candidates to displace RINO’s and weak Republican candidates. To late to reinvent the wagon wheel. I am with you!
Please know this is a great idea. Matter of fact, your efforts are already being completed and in growth mode. It is my advise to adopt this group as your own and unite us for our Nation’s sake. Let not ego be our ditch. Unite us by uniting our efforts already in place. Check it out and take the test questionaire and see how you do. Best to have read the Constitution before doing so.

Thanks for all you are doing Eric. I’ve been following you for quite awhile and feel compelled to follow your guidance in this. I have dedicated myself to all that I can do to fight back for the sake of liberty! I’m like many others who are taking as much time as possible to refresh my knowledge of our history. What a wonderful heritage we are priviledged to share and I am so ashamed that I have been neglectful in protecting it. Last 912 was the greatest day in my life, seeing all the wonderful citizens of this country show up on the steps of the capitol. I’m looking forward to 041510 as well as 082810. I’ll be back and want to go to Valley Forge as well.

Question:
Troublesome remark. “in the person’s best interest”…this is supposed to be about the collective…American Patriots. It isn’t and should never be about a particular “group or organization”. I’m sure most see “Tea Party” and believe it is all one group. You should explain the difference between the groups “National Tax Day”, Tea Party Patriots, and “Tea Party Express” for example.

“credentialing process”…? Will the temporary “planning committee” consisting of nine tea party organizers be responsible for conducting the “credentialing process”? What sort of “credentials” are you referring to? Who will be responsible for screening the “planning committee” who screens the “credentials” of those “allowed” to attend the 1,000 person Patriot Caucus? Who are the nine tea party organizers serving on the “planning committee”? What states are they from? What organizations are they with? What are their “credentials”?
All this idea seems to represents is more of the same. From outside your e-mail looking in that’s exactly what this looks like. “Credentials”…who came up with that? Oh boy, a NEW handful of people making decisions for the masses…that’s exactly what we need right now. That should fix EVERYTHING!
There has to be a more inclusive way of doing things.
We are all filled with passion for the movement. Re-think this idea and tell us who these mystery people are.

I understand your desire to unite, but to unite behind candidates and not turn your “group” into a party is unlikely as you will have many different candidates that may be “worthy” and therefore you will have factions that will divide the unity.
I suggest you produce candidates from your group “tea partiers” and/or find candidates and encourage debate. Debate will allow the truth to shine on those who trully understand the violations to the constitution and the solutions held therein and rebuke those who just have that “gut” feeling that something is wrong. People with just good intent yet without knowledge are no good in an environment like “politics”. Most of the members of Congress enter with good intent but quickly are corrupted.
As far as the Continental Congress is concerned it is much more than just utilizing the “accountability clause” of the 1st Amendment. The Articles of Freedom actually direct our servant government on how to correct the violations to the Constitution (most do not even know the violations let alone the remedies). Secondly, it advises our servant government on lawful civil actions that We the People will take if they do not initiate such remedies.
I will support your efforts as another of many remedies that must be taken. The Constitution wasnt destroyed quickly or by one mean nor will it be restored quickly or by one “great” idea. But I will suggest that without an educated populace any movement, change, revolution, etc…will not end well. The awakening has happened, the education needs to get in high gear so we can implement solid and constitutional solutions.

My husband and I were at the last march in DC and we will defi8nately be at this one.
The Highland Lakes Tea Party Coalition (near Austin Tx) is developing a campaign to spearhead a Texas Tenth Amendment movement where our state government will be bound to interpose by nullification against all non- constitutionally enumerated federal actions/laws/mandates/initiatives, etc and judicial edicts and to exercise its obligation to enforce its superior separation of powers postion as intended by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
We are also developing a list of five limited government principles/actions to submit to all candidates for local, state and national office, for comment. For each principle, candidates will be asked to explain why they do or do not support the principle and what actions they will take, once in office, to promote their position on each principle.
We believe the DC Beltway Bandits are too insulated by distance and special interest monies for us to be effective with more DC rallies. Instead we believe it will be more effective to consolidate our voices and efforts through the state apparatus provided by our Constitution and Bill of Rights. If other states were to follow suit, we would all have the benefit of ideas generated from the 50 laboratories which are our states to promote our common objective of limited government.
I love your style Eric! Where the heck have we all been while our beloved country has been hijacked? I’m an educated, hard-working mother, wife, and daughter. Most days for the past year I’ve been angry, scared, hopeful, let down, etc., etc. due to the attempted dissolution of America The Beautiful. You better believe my whole immediate family is now deeply engaged in the battle and will provide all the resources we can muster to thwart this well orchestrated, diabolical, hostile takeover. My husband and I will be in D.C. on 4-15-10 and would love to carry on to Valley Forge. We all must remain clear-headed, strong, and yes most importantly united as one! I am a bit dissappointed in that the Tea Party movements hasn’t endorsed the one man and the only man in congress that is fit to be President, Congressman Ron Paul. He is the only one that believes in the Constitution as it is written and he practices what he preaches. He supports the Tea Party movement and is the one who got me involved with it. Congressman Ron Paul is a truely honable man that our founding fathers would be proud of. I wish the Tea Party movement would ackowledge him for the great work he has done in brining our country back to the Constitution.

Organization is very important and leadership is necessary. I agree that what is planned on a national level should also be replicated at the State level as much as possible. Although Texas has a Republican majority, there are a lot of office holders who run as Republicans to get elected but who are NOT conservative. They need to be exposed and challenged in primaries.

The only group that responded was Focus on the Family. I was disappointed. But now I see it has begun. Thank God! Obama wants a FAST TRACK to AMNESTY and a VERY FAST TRACK TO VOTERS REGISTRATION.
It is just like the Insurance Plan he took out by making Joe Biden his Vice President and Nancy Pelosi the House Speaker.
Obama said during his Campaigning that he believes the United States of America should have “ONE PARTY” and you know WHICH Party he means——> All Democrat.
He will make himself ‘President for Life’ after that.
You will not be able to Elect any other Candidates of any other Party because of the enormous Imbalance Legalizing the Illegals will bring on.
Take it from someone that grew up in the Barrios of LA, you don’t want another Shamnesty.

It is true. There are many different groups that are concerned about the direction the USA is heading. I applaud the effort to get as many of these groups together as possible. There is always greater strength in numbers. If people will put aside self-serving motives and work together for changes then much can be accomplished. I gladly support this effort.
I’m very interested and will be keeping tabs on the project. I’m not very politically savvy though, so I don’t understand what type of influence this will have on politics and our government. Is the goal of this group to produce research and papers in order to influence politics, but it will not have an official “voice” in the process of government itself?
