Tax Day Tea Party 2010

Fellow Patriots,

To suggest the past eight months have been a wild ride would be quite an understatement. The Liberty Movement that has developed out of the Tax Day Tea Party has had staggering effects on the political process. In fact, I would assert the Liberty Movement has completely caught the entire government establishment flat footed and unprepared.

Think about it. If we, as a movement, never hosted the February 27th “Nationwide Chicago Tea Party,” and if it were not followed up by the April 15th Tax Day Tea Party, the chances are high that our country would be in much, much worse shape right now.

Cap and Trade, Socialist Big Government Healthcare legislation, and probably more bailouts would have passed with little or no opposition. Granted, government has still expanded and become even more dangerous to our way of life, but not at the speed it would have happened without our movement in place to slow it down.

Let there be no doubt, this movement has played a tremendous part in American opposition efforts against big government in 2009. But we need to do more. We need to unify and collaborate like never before.

It’s one thing to rally in ways that will slow down efforts to strip us of our liberty. It’s a completely different thing to do what needs to be done to remove a government that has declared war on our freedom and replace it with a new, constitutionally grounded government body.

But this is exactly what we need to do.

Tax Day Tea Party 2010

We’re currently working to build a new coalition for the 2010 Tax Day Tea Party. This coalition will consist of key core organizers behind the 2009 effort, and will contain a new group of people who can bring a different element to the table.

Our plans for 2010 include a full week of activism. This week will include training, education campaigns, rallies, get out the vote efforts and support events for campaigns seeking to defeat incumbents.

As Erick Erickson of RedState so rightly puts it… “It’s time to put down the protest signs and pick up the campaign signs.”

TaxDayTeaParty.com is hosting a nationwide conference call next Tuesday, October 20th, at 6:00 PM Central time. Please RSVP on Facebook to receive call in credentials.

It’s time to put aside our differences. It’s time to stop the internal bickering and power struggles. The Liberty Movement MUST prevail in 2010. If it does not, then we’ll bee in a situation that will be irreversible for at least the next 20 years.

Let this be a call for unity. Let’s do this!

For Liberty,

-Eric Odom

I find this all very interesteing. I’m very concerned about my taxes going up and have been for a number of years so I wonder, where was all this enthusiaum 8 years ago? What makes today so different? Wheren’t there 2 bail outs last year? What about the wars? Do they not require my tax dollars to fund? The timing of all this just seems kinda late, or is it…..

This should not just be at a national level. If counties do not start getting control of their budgets and commisioner ,this is all for naught.I hope and pray it succeeds.

I am very happy to see the silent majority in this country speaking up. Our politicians are afraid, and they shoud be. They have not done the will of the people for a long time. We need to remember, we still hold the power of the vote. I for one intend to vote OUT OF OFFICE all those in my state who want to turn us into a government dependent people. This Country was founded by people who stood up and did things for themself’s, WE MUST DO THE SAME Wayne

never in my life have i seen so much american terrorism and hate from the liberals as i do today, they have been exposed and are using tactics unbecoming of of what they preach , because thier survival is in seriouse jepardy . lets keep up the pressure america to erradicate evil the indoctrination of todays liberals started years ago in our schools, so we must persevere and keep the pressure on. there are more true americans than the liberals would like u to believe. dont give up the ship . we have them on the run

Does the American people have what it takes to “pick up their arms” against the very thing that is destroying our liberty? The time is near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves. I only hope it won’t be too late. Remember it was said by G. Washington, “A government afraid of the people is a democracy. A people afraid of the government is a dictatorship.” and “Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples’ liberty’s teeth.”

One thing to remember folks, you used to have to pay your taxes on tax day. Or by then, but today it’s a scam becuase you’ve already paid them.

The Government is laughing at all of us. Why? Becuase on tax day your standing around making noise but you’ve given them the money already so it means nothing.

If you have a child who gets an allowance each week and he used to get it on Friday’s but then conned you into paying to him on Monday’s instead and then on Friday you jumped up and down and yelled “I’m tired of giving you an allowance” would it matter?

Not unless you actually didn’t give it to him the next Monday. At which time he’d be scared and think “gee I might actually lose my allowance for real” and would begin to try to act right so you’d pay the allowance.

Of course that’s the simple view.

In reality you can claim what you want (so you don’t get a return) and if you owe, you owe and have to pay — but no one goes to jail becuase they didn’t pay taxes on April 15th.

Of course, if you are going to have to pay be prepared to either have the money in savings (collecting interest) so you can pay when ready to do so — don’t just spend the money — but the simple act of rebellion would darn near shut down Washington DC.

Imagine if 10 million middle class tax payers did this — and owed $5000 each! That’s 50 BILLION dollars.

Yes, that’s a protest — all else is well, noise.

  8. Erik says:

We can protest in a way that would get attention:

If we got MILLIONS of protesters to go in and change their W2’s to maximum deductions so that on April 15th millions of people OWE the IRS money it will break the system.

Imagine if just 4 million people refused to file taxes and didn’t pay into income tax.

They would be ‘late’ of course and not make any statement that they aren’t going to pay (that would be illegal) but just being late would damn near break the system and trust me, you mean nothing to them until it hits them in the pocket book.

Imagine if one million people did not pay, intentionally, their taxes by April 15th — and if these were middle class people like me who might owe say $5000 each then it would be FIVE BILLION dollars that the government would not have on April 15th.

Doesn’t sound like much? Exactly how would the IRS even be able to function if one million tax payers said “not right now thank you”.

Now imagine it it were FIVE MILLION — that’s TWENTY FIVE BILLION dollars.

Yes, that would be a protest.

I just signed on for updates. Want to get “totally” involved in making changes NOW!!! Coming together to defeat the incumbents in 2010 is critical but what about all that is going on now? Just heard Oct. 31 Acorn will once again get funding from us via our representatives in Washington (they got a two month reprieve so the taxpayers would forget it). Did anyone ever hear about Obama signing on to stop funding for Acorn? Not I. And they’re working behind the scenes to legalize illegal aliens while we worry about the healthcare overhaul. We should be working together to fight each and every single thing that is done in Washington now so it won’t be too late by the time we gather to vote them out. Anything going on with these other issues? This is a critical time and we need to be fighting them NOW!!! I am ready and willing to do whatever needs to be done to fight against this insane Washington (socialist) takeover so anyone can contact me if bodies or work are needed.

April 15, 2010 is TOO LATE. The petitioning period to qualify for the ballot in the primaries begins long before then and may be finished by then.
If ‘We The People’ do get the candidates we trust on the ballot, the voters will have more of the same ole politicans or their friends to choose from in Nov 2010.
There is no time to lose. Face up to reality. Find and support a candidate who is neither a Dem or a Rep. One YOU trust to tell the truth and live up to YOUR expectations.

Billionaire Chucky Koch of the Cato Institute is funding and fomenting these ‘gatherings’. FAUX News is inflating everything. Most people are scared and lonely and this is giving them identity and a sense of belonging.

Koch is a tax evader, a terrible polluter and a bad American. Don’t follow him or FAUX News or Glenn Beck. They are misleading the people for their own financial gain.

    Boo!

Dear Mr. Olden: You say that unless the 2010 Tea party is a success, that AMERICA will be set back for at least 20 YEARS. Well, grin and bear it; if the 2010 Tea movement FAILS in 2010, there WON”T BE ANY AMERICA within 20 YEARS. I hate to be the bearer of Bad News, but let’s face it: DeNial is NOT Just a River in Egypt.
